Software Patents Directive Protest

This page is temporarily closed in protest against software patents. Websites may soon be closed down regularly due to software patents. Software patents can get you prosecuted for publishing texts you wrote yourself!

This is a protest against the proposed software patents directive due for vote on September 1st in the European Parliament. Countries like America have shown real problems with software patents, most notably when Amazon patented the "one-click shopping" technology.

Software patents do not promote technological development, and will harm the future of Free Software.
